i'm addicted to chuck!

have you seen nbc's comedy 'chuck'?

if you haven't, then i strongly suggest you do. chuck is like, the best thing that happened to nbc since heroes! and i'm not kidding. chuck is really funny and entertaining!

the show follows chuck, then an ordinary computer whiz who works as a nerd herder (a parody of geek squad) in buy more (a parody of best buy). one day, he opens an e-mail from his former stanford roomie, bryce larkin, and accidentally downloads an entire server of top secret data that was previously available to the us government only. all the information is stored in his head, by way of a series of cryptic images. complications arise when the nsa and cia send out their best agents: john casey and sarah walker, respectively. a series of events forces chuck to become one of the 'agents', which in turn pushes him to lead a 'secret' life.

one of the most amusing comedies i've seen lately, chuck is a must-watch for any geek (like yours truly). although the plot kinda reminds you of jake 2.0, chuck is in a different plane all its own. i mean, chuck is real fun to watch! the on-screen chemistry between the characters is addictive! (oh, i especially like chuck's relationship with morgan [his bestfriend]. what an odd couple they are!) plus, the women watching will like the feisty blonde cia agent sarah walker. mind you, she really kicks major ass!

so if you like action/comedy coupled with nerdy references, then chuck is the show you have to see.

rain is back... buffer than ever!

very nice! i stumbled upon new pictures of asia's beloved superstar, rain, topless... wow, isn't that a treat for rain fangirls like me? haha! because frankly, i think i'm not gonna be enjoying seeing him in his hollywood debut, in the critically lambasted movie, speed racer. he stars as taejo togokhan.

notice how ripped his muscles are! boy. i would sure like to see him strut his stuff on philippine shores... so rain, please please pretty please, do a concert here in manila! as in now na.

there's more eye candy below, so... ENJOY! XP

the horrors of making a thesis (pt. 1)

i was informed wednesday evening by marie, my very good friend and our litsoc treasurer, that we would have to come up with three possible thesis titles by friday afternoon... to say that i was horrified was an understatement. i was in complete and utter shock! i could not believe sir ferlo would surprise us like that. but then again, with sir ferlo, you can expect the unexpected. so i texted marie back, complete with expletives, about how sudden things were. and to top that all off, i was vacationing in aurora then, where i had no internet... plus, i haven't got my notebooks with me! for a split-second, i panicked. but after a moment, i regained composure and i started to think of a plan to get my ass out of possible trouble.

i asked marie if she could text me every single thesis title that was on the 2002-2008 lit senior's theses list. and yup, my dependable friend texted every single one of 'em. marie, if you're reading this, THANKS A LOT. i really appreciate that you're always there for me. hehe. so enough of the drama, and let's get back to my dilemma. where was i? oh, the part when i received every single title right? goodness gracious great balls of fire. i was aghast.

thursday morning, and i still haven't thought of a definite thesis title. BUT i did have an idea of the coverage of my possible theses. the first one involves film and lit, the second, involves film only, and the third one is about pop culture. and so on the journey back to bulacan, i stayed awake all ten hours of the trip, all the while texting marie, sharyn and leo. oh yes. yours truly was bangag all throughout.

i arrived in malolos at around 3pm i think, and as soon as i got home, i uploaded pics into my multiply account. very nice huh? i was so pressed for time and still, i found the time to squeeze in multiply-ing. haha! oh well, that's me alright. and after a bit of net surfing, looking for possible theories and stuff, i dozed off. and when i woke up, it was already friday morning! the horror of it all... i was 6 hours away from the deadline, and i virtually had nothing! nada, zero, zilch. i thought i was doomed to perdition.

but then, at noon that day, a text from sharyn surprised me! it said that the deadline for the submission of thesis titles was moved to sunday, at 6 pm. yay! as soon as i received the wonderful news, i released a sigh of good 'ol relief. dang! i thought i wasn't gonna make it in time! whew. flash-forward to today, sunday.

it's almost 10 am and i think the gravity of my situation has just sunk in. I HAVE TO COME UP WITH TITLES! so far my first one is halfway through. hehe. geez, talk about procrastinating! i think i should be the poster girl for the association of procrastinators and crammers! sheesh. i'm sure hoping i will get the job done by 4pm. pray for me! what i like about tiu

yes! my blogging hiatus is finally over. well, after many months of just sitting around staring blankly at the four corners of my room, i have decided to create a new blog. yippee! and, (drumline please) making up my mind, I chose to name my blog the caffeinated dream. why i told you that even though i know you don’t give a damn, i have no idea.

so, for my very first (but not quite) post, I am giving you a list of things that I like about tiu. no, it’s not a typographical error. I am really listing things that I like about christopher john alandy dy tiu, aka chris tiu aka mr. dreamboy aka the-boy-you’d-like-to-take-home-to-meet-mama. whew. and i am pretty sure thousands of heads will nod in approval, if ever they saw this post. so, here it is…

what I like about tiu

1. he is one of the best shooting guards in the league (his three point shooting is off the hook!)

2. he always encourages his teammates, especially the younger ones (don’t you find that endearing?)

3. he almost never gets personal during a game (talk about a true sport!)

4. he sweats and he still looks fresh (don’t even get me started…)

5. he is uber rich (not that it matters much to me, but hey, admit it or not, it’s a plus)

6. he is chinito (i like my men chinky)

7. his soulful eyes seem to promise you the whole world (makes you fall for him even more)

8. he melts your heart when he flashes his boyish grin (sooo adorable!)

9. his face brightens up when he laughs (this, my friends, is like the eighth wonder of the world)

10. he listens to josh groban (don’t you just love him already?)

11. he isn’t a player (praise god!)

12. he is very very very smart (a management eng major and a consistent dl? this guy is unbelievable. plus, he received the highest honors during his graduation at xs)

13. he is driven (i’m almost speechless)

14. he does community service (may i say he is the hottest sk chairman ever!)

15. he knows his priorities (isn’t he husband material or what?)

16. he is humble (in every sense of the word)

17. he is genuinely nice (it’s irrefutable)

probably, most of you realize that the mere mention of chris’ name induces hysteria among college girls, but in my case, it’s a lot worse. if you happen to be one of my friends, you surely have an idea of the consequences when you bring him up in conversations. frankly, I can objectively describe it as something that resembles an epileptic fit. no kidding. I get all fuzzy and kilig when someone mentions him. sigh. all I know is i feel euphoric whenever I see him... and that’s the truth. he is simply tiu good to be true...
